Who we are

An American family business

Hauling freight out of Los Angeles since 1996. Same family, same phone number, 30+ years.

Cargo Taxi Deliveries is a family-owned motor carrier based in Los Angeles, CA, operating since 1996 under US DOT 2339618, MC 798866 and CA 431775. It runs courier, freight, refrigerated, hazmat, flatbed and long-haul service across 11 western states with dispatch staffed 24 hours a day.

Built on one simple idea

Cargo Taxi Deliveries treats every customer’s freight like it is the only job that matters. No call centres, no runaround — experienced drivers, a well-kept fleet, and a family that answers the phone itself.

From a single legal filing to twelve pallets crossing three states, we bring the right equipment, on time, every time. That sentence is on a lot of trucking websites. What makes it true here is the part most carriers will not do: turning down the loads we cannot run properly.

What thirty years teaches

An outsider thinks trucking is driving. It is almost entirely gates — who lets you in, when, with what credential, and what happens if the window is missed. Terminals at the ports run appointment systems and free-time clocks. LAX cargo buildings release freight when the handler says so, not when the flight lands. An Inland Empire distribution centre reschedules a missed appointment to a different day, not later the same one. None of it can be arranged at the gate.

So dispatch asks a lot of questions before quoting: what the freight is, what is at each end, whether there is a dock and a forklift, what the real deadline is. That is not bureaucracy. It is the difference between a delivery and a second trip, and it is why a carrier that does not ask has not done this long.

Why we say no

A large carrier’s dispatcher is measured on bookings taken. This operation turns down loads regularly, and says why: a 53ft trailer load the fleet cannot carry; a live chassis container pull that needs a different kind of truck; a hazmat class we do not hold authority for; a delivery window that cannot be made in the traffic at that hour.

Taking a booking that fails at a gate costs you a day and costs us a customer. After thirty years, the arithmetic on that is not complicated.

The long version: thirty years hauling freight out of Los Angeles

Questions

About the company

How long has Cargo Taxi Deliveries been in business?

Since 1996 — 30 years hauling freight out of Los Angeles under the same family ownership, operating as US DOT 2339618, MC 798866 and CA 431775.

Who answers the phone?

A dispatcher, 24 hours a day — not a call centre and not an answering service. The person who picks up knows where the trucks are and can commit to a pickup time on the call.

Is Cargo Taxi Deliveries a broker or a carrier?

A carrier. The trucks and the drivers are ours, which is why dispatch can commit to a pickup time rather than go looking for somebody to take the load. Where a job genuinely needs equipment we do not run, we say so and point you at the right carrier rather than brokering it.

What loads do you turn down?

53ft trailer loads, live chassis container pulls, hazmat classes we do not hold authority for, and any delivery window we cannot actually make. A booking that fails at a gate costs you a day and costs us a customer, so the arithmetic on saying no is not complicated.
