Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Cargo Taxi Deliveries collects through this website and in the course of carrying freight, why we hold it, who sees it, and what you can require us to do with it.

The short version: we collect what we need to quote a job, move it, invoice it and prove we did it. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use it to build a profile of you.

  1. 1.What we collect

We collect only what the work requires.

    • Contact details you give us — name, phone, email, company — when you request a quote, book a shipment or sign a document.
    • Shipment details — pickup and delivery addresses, dates, what is being moved, special instructions, and any reference number you supply.
    • Delivery evidence — the name of the person who signed, the time, and where applicable a photograph of the freight or the delivery location.
    • Billing details — what was charged, what was paid and when. Card numbers are handled by the payment processor and are never stored by us.
    • For documents signed electronically — the signer's name as entered, the date and time, and a fingerprint of the document as signed.
    • Basic technical information your browser sends: IP address, user agent and the page requested, used to keep the site working and to stop abuse.
  2. 2.What we do not collect

We do not run advertising trackers, third-party analytics that profile you across other websites, or social media pixels on this site. We do not ask for, and have no use for, a Social Security number, a date of birth, or any government identifier.

If a shipment contains protected health information — a medical courier run, for example — we do not open it, read it or record its contents. We record only what is needed to establish custody of the package.

  3. 3.Why we hold it, and for how long

Contact and shipment information is held to quote, perform and invoice the work, and afterwards to answer a claim or a query about a past shipment. Bills of lading and delivery receipts are kept because federal regulation requires a motor carrier to retain them, and because they are the evidence that settles a dispute.

Quote requests that do not become bookings are kept for two years, then deleted. Shipment and billing records are kept for seven years. Signed documents are kept for the life of the agreement plus seven years. Anything else is deleted when it stops being useful.

  4. 4.Who else sees it

Only the parties who have to, and only what they need.

    • The driver performing your shipment sees the addresses, the contacts and the handling instructions.
    • Our email provider transmits the messages we send you.
    • Our hosting provider stores the website and its database.
    • Our payment processor handles card payments and holds the card details we never see.
    • A mapping provider receives an address when the estimator works out a distance.
    • A lawyer, insurer or auditor, where a claim or an audit requires it.
    • A public authority, where the law requires disclosure.
  5. 5.We do not sell your information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA. We have not done so in the preceding twelve months.

  6. 6.Your rights in California

If you are a California resident you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you and where it came from; to receive a copy of it; to have it corrected if it is wrong; to have it deleted, subject to the records we are legally required to keep; and to limit the use of sensitive personal information, which in practice we do not collect.

Exercising any of these rights costs nothing and we will not treat you differently for doing so. Email us or call dispatch and say what you want. We respond within forty-five days, and will tell you if we need the further forty-five days the law allows.

An authorised agent may make a request on your behalf with written permission that we can verify.

  7. 7.Cookies

This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. The only cookie it sets is a session cookie for the administrative console, which only staff use, and which is deleted when the session ends. Because we set no tracking cookies, there is no consent banner — a banner that asks permission for nothing is theatre.

  8. 8.Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Administrative access requires a password and is restricted to staff. Signed documents are stored with their cryptographic fingerprint so alteration after signature is detectable. Access to customer records is limited to the people who need it to do the work.

No system is perfectly secure, and anybody who tells you otherwise is selling something. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information we will notify you as the law requires and tell you plainly what happened.

  9. 9.Children

This is a freight service sold to businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under sixteen. If you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.

  10. 10.Changes, and how to reach us

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where the change affects how we use information we already hold, tell affected customers directly.

For any privacy question or request, call dispatch or email us. A person reads it.
