Semiconductor & Electronics Freight
Wafers, chips and boards — on a truck that is not shared, in packaging that is not opened, handled by people who know what ESD means.
Cargo Taxi Deliveries moves semiconductors, wafers, chips, circuit boards and finished electronics across Los Angeles and the western states. Shipments travel on exclusive-use trucks with electrostatic-discharge-aware handling, shock and vibration control, humidity-sensitive packaging respected, and a sealed chain of custody from origin to destination.
Electronics freight fails invisibly. A pallet of boards that took a hard shock looks exactly like a pallet of boards that did not, right up until a test yield comes back wrong weeks later and nobody can say where it happened. The same goes for electrostatic discharge and for moisture-sensitive devices whose dry-pack seal was broken somewhere between the fab and the line. None of it shows on a photograph at the dock.
So this work is run on exclusive-use trucks with sealed loads. Nobody opens a moisture-barrier bag. Nobody restacks a shock-indicator pallet to make room for another customer's freight, because there is no other customer's freight. Loads are blocked and braced rather than allowed to shift, and shock and tilt indicators are left intact and are read at delivery rather than being quietly disposed of.
The Southern California customer base is wide: fabs and test houses, contract manufacturers and board assemblers, aerospace and defence electronics suppliers, distributors, and the service and repair chain. Much of it moves to and from LAX air freight, which is why electronics work and air-freight recovery usually end up on the same truck.

Equipment used for this work
Standard Sedan
Documents, small parcels, medical samples and legal filings — fast, discreet, expedited courier runs across the basin.
- Limit: No pallets
- Limit: No item longer than about 5 ft
Mercedes Sprinter
Long-wheelbase, high-roof cargo van for medium loads and efficient multi-stop routes — the workhorse of the fleet.
- Limit: No liftgate — needs a dock or forklift for heavy pallets
- Limit: Maximum 4 pallet positions
26ft Box Truck
Enclosed 26ft box with a liftgate and a pallet jack on board as standard — the right truck for palletized freight going anywhere without a dock.
- Limit: Not a 53ft trailer — 12 pallet positions, not 26
- Limit: Restricted on some residential streets and low clearances
Questions
Semiconductors & Electronics, answered.
How do you protect electronics from static damage in transit?
Static-sensitive freight stays in its supplied ESD packaging, which is not opened in transit, and drivers observe grounding practice when handling it. The far larger real-world risk is packaging being opened for inspection or re-stacking — which is why these loads run exclusive-use, so there is no reason for anyone to open anything.
Do you use shock indicators?
Shock and tilt indicators supplied with your freight are left intact and are read at delivery in front of the consignee rather than removed. If you want indicators applied and you do not supply them, tell dispatch at booking so they are fitted before loading rather than mentioned afterwards.
Can you recover electronics shipments from LAX?
Yes. Air-freight recovery at LAX is a routine lane, and electronics is a large part of it — the shipment is recovered from the cargo building, loaded directly onto an exclusive-use truck, and delivered without an intermediate warehouse stop. That removes the handling where most airport-to-plant damage actually happens.
