Automotive Parts & Manufacturing Freight
Inbound supplier runs, line-side replenishment, and the line-down call that has to be answered in minutes.
Cargo Taxi Deliveries moves automotive and manufacturing freight across Southern California: inbound supplier parts to plants and assembly operations, line-side replenishment, dealer and service-centre distribution, returnable container recovery, and emergency line-down expediting with a truck assigned on the call.
Manufacturing freight has two completely different speeds and a carrier has to be good at both. The first is the scheduled inbound flow: supplier parts arriving against a plan, returnable racks and dunnage going back, and a route that runs the same way every day because predictability is the whole point of the plan. The second is the line-down call, where everything about the plan has already failed and the only question is how fast a truck can be at a supplier's dock.
Scheduled work runs as a recurring route with a named driver who learns the receiving dock, the rack return area and the people who sign. Line-down work runs as expedited: a truck assigned on the call, driven direct, with the dispatcher reachable the whole way. The same carrier doing both means the emergency call goes to somebody who already knows your plant.
The Southern California customer base covers auto manufacturers and assemblers, tier suppliers, aftermarket and performance manufacturers, dealer groups and service centres, and the fabrication and machining shops that feed all of them. Freight runs from small high-value components through palletised stock to skidded tooling and machinery on the flatbed.

Questions
Automotive & Manufacturing, answered.
How fast can you respond to a line-down situation?
A truck is assigned on the call, 24 hours a day. Physical pickup inside the LA basin is usually under 90 minutes and frequently much less depending on where the nearest suitable vehicle is. Dispatch will give you a real time before you commit, because an optimistic number helps nobody when a line is stopped.
Do you handle returnable racks and dunnage?
Yes — returnable containers, racks and dunnage are recovered on the return leg of scheduled routes rather than treated as a separate job. That is usually the cheapest way to run it, since the truck is making the trip regardless.
Can you run a daily route between a supplier and our plant?
Yes, and that is the normal shape of this work. A recurring route fixes the stops, the timings and the driver and is billed at a flat route rate rather than per run. Give dispatch the stop list, the windows and the expected dwell time at each dock and they will quote the route rather than the mileage.
